Albuquerque's Meet Ends

The 2010 meet at The Downs of Albuquerque started up on August 14 and ended yesterday, November 14th. We had a very good meet with Jill running the show there a majority of the time along with her great crew of grooms.

Out of 40 outs, we had 14 first place finishes, 4 second place finishes, 7 third place finishes and 5 fourth place finishes. There were only 12 times that we did not light the board. And our % for 1, 2 and 3 place finishes was 62.5%.

We won 1 Stakes race, 3 Allowance races, 4 Claiming races, 1 Futurity Trial and now 5 horses are no longer maidens after we won 5 Maiden races all during the 3 month meet.

Some of the highlights from the meet was when Miracle Snow, owned by Melvin and Mary Neugebauer, won the Lineage Championship Stakes on August 22nd by 1/2 a length in a time of 19.332 which was just .035 seconds off the track record giving him a 104 speed index. And on September 10th when RGR Lyon A Tac, owned by David and Ross Hinkins, won his trial for the New Mexico State Fair Senor Futurity by 3/4 of a length in a time of 19.579 qualifying him the fastest for the finals.

THANK YOU all for an outstanding meet at Albuquerque! We couldn't have done it without the support of our owners, the great horses, our crew, and the jockeys.

New Mexico Classic Cup Day

Yesterday, October 31st, was New Mexico Classic Cup Day at Zia Park in Hobbs, NM. It wasn't quite the day we had hoped for but it really wasn't that bad of a day especially considering all the races had a lot of great horses in them.

In the New Mexico Classic Cup Stakes going 870 yards we had Famous Uncledavid, owned by MJ Farms. After his gate popped open before the start and then standing in the gates for a long time waiting for another horse to get settled, he got out slow and then was bumped. He trailed the field around the turn but quickly gained ground on the stretch closing well and finished 3rd.

In the Nameshaker New Mexico Classic Stakes going 440 yards, we had Miracle Snow, owned by Melvin and Mary Neugebauer. He ran a solid race against good horses and finished 4th.

In the New Mexico Classic Derby going 440 yards, we had Here Kittykittykitty, owned by Jay and Mary Lou Standefer. He ran a great race and finished 2nd getting beat by only a neck.

And in the New Mexico Classic Futurity going 400 yards, we had RGR Lyon A Tac, owned by David and Ross Hinkins, who looked impressive and finished 2nd, High Five Lane, owned by Kip Watterson, who ran good and finished 5th, and then Brookstone Flash, owned by Jay and Mary Lou Standefer, who got into to some trouble right off the start hesitating and finished behind the field.

We wish we could have gotten our picture taken, but it was still a fairly good day. On to the next race. Congratulations to all!
