Big Weekend Coming Up!

This upcoming weekend is going to be a busy one for us. Friday, April 2nd is the 2010 West Texas Futurity Trials. We have 13 horses entered in the 11 trials. Saturday, April 3rd is the finals for the 2010 West Texas Derby. Qualified out of our barn for the Derby is 2009 All American Futurity finalist Jess So Sixy and 2009 West Texas Futurity finalist Mark It Famous. And on Sunday, April 4th is the Red Cell New Mexico Distance Challenge with 2009 Champion Distance Horse Gone To The Mountain running in it. It's looking like it's going to be a fun and exciting weekend. We hope to see you all out this way to cheer us on. Good luck to those that have horses running and we look forward to seeing you all!

2010 New Mexico Spring Futurity Trials

The trials for the 2010 New Mexico Spring Futurity were held this last Friday, March 26th at Sunland Park. It was a crazy windy day with a strong tail wind for most of the trials with the exception of 2. The later it got, the stronger the tail wind seem to get.

WR Dash won her trial and ran a time of 15.081 qualifying 6th fastest for the finals. Cozby ran a close second in his trial and ran a time of 15.090 qualifying 7th fastest for the finals. WR Aces Fame ran a close second in her trial and ran a time of 15.175 qualifying for the Juvenille. The finals for the 2010 New Mexico Spring Futurity will be held on Sunday, April 11th. WR Dash and WR Aces Fame are both owned by Rose Webb. Cozby is owned by The Coz Bunch. Congratulations to both owners for qualifying for the Futurity finals and the Juvenille.

Another impressive win came from High Five Lane owned by Kip Watterson. However, he drew the first trial which had a cross wind and unfortunately did not have a fast enough time to qualify. Guess that's horse racing and when it comes to the weather it's out of our hands. Dang the bad luck though.
