MISS DASH TA DIAL WINS RAINBOW JUVENILE

July 25, 2010 - Mark My Dial filly Miss Dash Ta Dial picked up her first stakes win in the $20,000 Rainbow Juvenile (R).

The black filly broke fifth, quickly went to third and then took the lead to beat Tycoon Jess by a neck. Running the 400 yards in :19.623 on a sloppy track, Miss Dash Ta Dial dueled with Tycoon Jess but proved best in the end.

Esgar Ramirez was the filly's jockey, and Wes Giles is her trainer. She has now won one of five starts, and the $12,000 from today's win brings her total earnings to $15,940.

Miss Dash Ta Dial is a homebred racing for Robert Williams of Roosevelt, Utah. She is out of the Dash Ta Fame mare A Famous New Face. The brown mare has produced two winners from four starters that have earned a total of $166,395.

Mark My Dial is by Make My Mark and out of the Ronas Ryon mare Dial One For Ryon. He won seven of 21 starts, placed second once and finished third six times. Miss Dash Ta Dial is the sorrel stallion's first stakes winner.

The field following Miss Dash Ta Dial was as follows: Tycoon Jess, The Redd Zone, SM Chicksastreakin, Make Me Fly and Ice Kool Kitty. Arizona Hottie, Brookstone Flash, First Valentine, Goose Perry, Knuckles O Toole and Remarkable Cartel were all scratched by their trainers.

2010 Rainbow Juvenile

Today the finals for the Rainbow Juvenile were held at Ruidoso Downs. When the trials were held on July 8th, we qualified 5 horses for the Juvenile. We decided to scratch 4 of the 5 qualifiers which included Arizona Hottie, Brookstone Flash, First Valentine and Goose Perry but chose to run Miss Dash Ta Dial. Well that was good decision because the winner of the 2010 Rainbow Juvenile was Miss Dash Ta Dial by a neck. Miss Dash Ta Dial, owned by Robert H. Williams, ran an impressive race. We were very pleased.

Congratulations to the connections of this years winner of the Rainbow Juvenile, Miss Dash Ta Dial!

John Deere New Mexico Juvenille Challenge Trials

On Thursday, June 22nd was the trials for the John Deere New Mexico Juvenille Challenge at Ruidoso Downs. We had 2 horses that both ran great in the trials and 1 that we scratched. Sheza Fast Cartel B, owned by Jill Giles, Dennis Jensen and Melvine Neugebauer, won the 1st trial by a neck. Unfortunately, there was a 15 mph cross wind that race and the time was not fast enough to qualify for the finals. Ms Runaway Miracle, owned by Jack Norris, won the the 6th trial by a nose in a time of 17.622 which was the 13th fastest time of the day just missing qualifying for the finals by 4 hundredths of second.

Both horses ran great, there is not much you can complain about except that we just needed to be a tiny bit faster. The tiniest mistake, change in the track condition, weather, and wind make a difference in qualifying and not qualifying. That's just the bad luck.

Congratulations to the connections of both of these horses on running impressive races and winning their trials!

2010 Zia Futurity & Derby Trials

The trials for the 2010 Zia Futurity were held on July 15th at Ruidoso Downs. There were 9 trials all full horse fields. The 3 horses we had entered in the trials all ran nice with Uncle Woody, owned by MJ Farms, running 3rd in the 6th trial setting the 17th fastest time of the day qualifying him for the Juvenille/Consolation if one is held. Cozby, owned by The Coz Bunch, ran a really nice race running 2nd just a head behind the winner in the 4th trial. And RGR Lyon A Tac, owned by David and Ross Hinkins, ran 4th in the 2nd trial.

The trials for the 2010 Zia Derby were held on July 16th also at Ruidoso Downs. Here Kittykittykitty, owned by Jay and Mary Lou Standefer, ran 3rd in the 2nd trial in a time of 19.901 qualifying him 10th fastest for the Derby. The finals for the Zia Derby will be held on August 1, 2010. Congratulations to Jay and Mary Lou!

After this weekends races, we have continued our streak with everything lighting the board with 1 second, 2 thirds, and 1 fourth place finish.

2010 Rainbow Derby Trials

Our streak of every horse lighting the board continued on into the 2010 Rainbow Derby Trials held at Ruidoso Downs yesterday, where out of 3 horses, we had 2 third place finishes and 1 fourth place finish against fields of very tough company. All 3 horses ran good. Jess So Sixy, owned by Robert H. Williams, ran fourth in the 2nd trial in a time of 21.226 which was good enough for her to qualify 9th fastest for the finals. If there was a Juvenille/Consolation for the Derby, both Mark It Famous, also owned by Robert H. Williams, who ran 3rd in the 1st trial and Jess Good, owned by Jill Giles and Johnny Lee, who ran 3rd in the 4th trial, would have both qualified.

The finals for the 2010 Rainbow Derby will be held on Saturday, July 24th. Congratulations and good luck in the finals to the connections of Jess So Sixy!

2010 Rainbow Futurity Trials

Today the trials for the 2010 Rainbow Futurity were held at Ruidoso Downs. It was a long day with the first of 18 trials off at 12:03 p.m. and the last off at 7:17 p.m. All 10 horses we had entered in the trials ran great with each of them lighting the board. We were really pleased with how all of them ran. From 10 starts today, we had 2 first place finishes, 4 seconds, 3 thirds, and 1 fourth. Like I said, every horse lit the board. This while running against a lot of tough competition.

The Rainbow Futurity is such a tough race to qualify for with all the great horses competing for 1 of only 10 spots (which were filled with horses from just 6 of the 18 trials), not to mention the ever changing weather and/or wind in Ruidoso during the entire 18 mostly full horse fields. Unfortunetly, although we had an outstanding day, we just missed qualifing for the finals. However, we did qualify 5 of the 10 for the Juvenille.

Goose Perry, owned by Dennis Jensen, won the 8th trial by a 1/2 length in a time of 19.704 qualifying 2nd fastest for the Juvenille. First Valentine, owned by David and Ross Hinkins, ran 3rd in the 15th trial in a time of 19.745 qualifying 5th fastest. Brookstone Flash, owned by Jay and Mary Lou Standefer, ran 2nd in the 4th trial in a time of 19.755 qualifying 6th fastest. Arizona Hottie, owned by Melvin and Mary Neugebauer, won the 9th trial by 1 lengh in a time of 19.781 qualifying 8th fastest. And Miss Dash Ta Dial, owned by Robert H. Williams, dead heated for 3rd in the 5th trial qualifying 10th fastest for the Juvenille.

Congratulations to all the owners who had horses that ran today. Your horses really did run great and we are extremely happy. And Congratulations to all the connnections of the qualifiers for the Juvenille. Just look at the competition that you outrun. Good luck in the finals! And good luck to those that have horses running in the Rainbow Derby trials tomorrow.
