MIRACLE SNOW SHINES ON LINEAGE DAY AT ALBUQUERQUE

August 22, 2010 – New Mexico-breds took center stage on Lineage Day at The Downs at Albuquerque with a full card of stakes on Sunday afternoon, including four for American Quarter Horses.

In the $40,000 Lineage Championship Stakes (RG2) for 3-year-olds and up at 400 yards, Melvin and Mary Neugebauer’s homebred Miracle Snow scored by a half-length and went over the $300,000 mark in career earnings. With Jorge Bourdieu up for trainer Wes Giles, the 6-year-old Dean Miracle gelding stopped the timer at :19.332 for a 104 speed index as the 2-1 second choice.

Miracle Snow has won nine of 32 career starts with earnings of $309,467. This was his second career stakes win after taking the 2007 Hard Twist Stakes (RG3) on Lineage Day. He has also placed in seven other stakes, all graded."
