The Mentalist ran a really close 2nd in his trial after leaving the gates late and ran a time of 14.976 qualifying 6th fastest for the finals. Qualifying for the Juvenille was Unashamed who won his trial and ran a time of 15.069, Miss Dash Ta Dial who ran a close 4th in her trial and ran a time of 15.084, and WR Carver who ran 2nd in his trial and ran a time of 15.098. The finals for the 2010 West Texas Futurity will be held on Sunday, April 18th.
The Mentalist is owned by Dennis Jensen, Randy Young, Johnny Lee and Jill Giles. Unashamed is owned by Marty and Melvin Neugebauer. Miss Dash Ta Dial is owned by Robert H. Williams. And WR Carver is owned by Rose Webb. Congratulations to the connections of the qualifiers!
It was an interesting day to say the least. There were fluke things that accured resulting in horses that were expected to run good didn't run as good as expected and vice versa. Congratulations to those who had horses that ran good but unfortunately didn't qualify. To those who had horses that had some bad luck, we will look forward to some better luck next time.
